The post cards are made by the artist Archibald Elliot Hashwell Miller (1887-1979)
He studied at Glasgow School of Art between 1906 and 1909, later he became a probationary Professor at the same place. During World War I he served with the 7th (Blythswood) Battalion of the Highland Light Infantry in Gallipoli, Palestine and France. He was awarded the Military Cross, attained the rank of Captain and continued to sketch and paint throughout the entire war. In WWII he served in the intelligence corps. He managed to become the Deputy Director of the National Galleries of Scotland in 1930, a post he held until 1952.
