Danish "civilforsvaret" Winter coat. (1962)

This is actually not a "military" item. The Civilforsvaret - Civil defence - should take care of the civilians, if Denmark should be attacked by the Soviet Union under the Cold War. Luckily this "doomsday" scenario never happened, but the "civilforsvaret" still got a lot of equipment.

This 1962 dated winter coat, is made out of wool, and the coat is "covered" in flame retardants that should prevent it from catching fire.

Notice that the buttons are made out of plastic... Why make a coat out of wool and prepare it with flame retardants... And then put plastic buttons on it????

The front of the coat... It is possible to button it both ways...

Back of the coat.
